Questions from business owners

Do I have to be one of the three to claim a profile?
No. Every business we have reviewed has a basic profile, and any of them can claim it for free. Being one of the three is a separate, editorial decision.
Will claiming make it more likely that we are selected?
No. Claiming keeps your details right and lets you add photographs. The editors compare finalists on their public record, and that record is the same whether a profile is claimed or not.
What does my profile need for the Verified seal?
A state license and a business registration we can confirm in public records. You can help by sending your license number; an insurance certificate is shown as a separate check.
Can we show our selection on our own website?
Yes. Selected businesses get a small set of badges with copy-and-paste code. Each one links back to the edition it came from and disappears if the selection changes.
