Cost guide Guide · Lenexa · Auto repair shops # Hiring auto repair shops in Lenexa: costs, checks and questions The number on the first quote is rarely the number you end up paying. Here is how to compare quotes in Lenexa, the costs they tend to leave out, and who we would call first. By **the Local Three editors** Updated November 4, 2026 · [how we work](https://thelocalthree.com/how-we-select/) ## The short answer Our editors’ picks for auto repair shops in Lenexa are **Burnett Automotive** , **Certified Transmission** and **Precision Dent Repair Kansas City** , chosen from 15 local companies. Ask at least three for a written quote that prices the same work. ## Comparing quotes 1. **Ask for the same specification.** Scope, materials, finish and timing, written down, so each company prices the same job. 2. **Look for what isn’t there.** Permit fees, electrical work, clean-up and repairs to the surrounding area are the usual gaps. 3. **Check the payment schedule.** Payments should follow finished stages, with lien releases before the last one. 4. **Plan the calendar.** Ask how long permits take locally and how weather affects the schedule before you sign. ## Costs quotes often leave out - **Permits, survey and engineering** — ask who applies and who pays - **Electrical work** — often done by a separate licensed electrician - **Making good** — restoring lawns, paths and planting after the work - **Design or HOA review** — time more than money, but it can add weeks ## Questions worth asking Who will be on site every day? Is the warranty in writing and does it transfer if you sell? Can I see a job you finished at least five years ago? A good company answers all three without hesitation. **Sources and method.** Local facts come from the public sources cited below. No business paid to be quoted or mentioned.
